I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Family and Couples Therapist with over 20 years of experience using a creative, strengths-based approach to emotional development and personal transformation. I support individuals in cultivating and nourishing their practices, be it art, spirituality, music, sports, or a general desire for growth, as tools toward their own transformation. I view art as an incredible source of healing and weave this into how I help clients discover, explore, and create new ways of being and understanding.

What does this mean to my clients and to myself? I believe that each person comes to counseling with their own set of skills, drives, and abilities, and that we all have the inherent tools needed to flourish. My role is to help those I work with to become aware of what internal barriers may be holding them back, while beginning to more effectively harness their strengths and resources to move through the difficulties they face and create a healthier more meaningful life.

I am also one of a growing number of female Capoeira Angola teachers worldwide, and a humble life-long practitioner. I began learning the art of Capoeira in 2000; my experience and deep love for this art has profoundly impacted my way of thinking and feeling in the world (as most artists will testify their art has done for them), culminating in the launch of Youth Rising NYC, a foundation that brings Capoeira Angola to at-risk youth in NYC.
